Blackout in Spain Yesterday - Cyber Attack or Something Else?

Folks buying up as much as they can, as fast as they can

The whole of Spain and Portugal were without electricity for most of the day yesterday. Parts of France were also hit. Was it a cyber attack? Seems like it has to be the most logical conclusion. But there doesn’t seem to be much evidence of this.

If not, Spain, Portugal and France need to take a good look at what went wrong, the robustness of their system and how to prevent it repeating.

Anyway, here’s a short video from the supermarket Mercadona. Unlike pretty much every other chain in Spain, Mercadona stayed open on their own power. Fair play to them for being better prepared than all the rest.

I’m not going to speculate any further on something until more information comes out. Was a strange event and experience to say the least. My phone died and I only realised that the whole of Spain was off the grid quite late in the day.
