This is the best analysis on what is happening in, and to, Ukraine that I have seen in awhile. The Zelensky regime WILL collapse; the only question is when.

There is nothing the US Empire can do to stop it, either. In the end, they'll say they tried, but the Ukrainians were just too corrupt or inept or inferior or whatever to be helped. Can't be the Empire's fault, ya know.

Thank you, Ohio Barbarian, really appreciate that.

That's exactly what they'll do. They'll hide and suppress any hint that they did this to Ukraine by weaponising it and using it for their ends and power games. And then they'll make out they tried to save it, but, exactly as you say, it was impossible because of the Ukrainians themselves.

Really good analysis, Shane.

I believe we've discussed this before but it really is ghoulish to see Von der Liar and friends basically bending Ukraine over their knees to see how long it lasts before it breaks.

When you really think about it, it's really insane.

Thank you, Red, really appreciate that mate))

Mind-blowing. I think more and more Ukrainians are waking up to just how much the West fucked them and used them in its power games.

KRedbeard's avatar

I agree. Probably a lot more of these incidents against the TCC to come.

Definitely. There was one the night after I put out the article. A man stabbed a TCR man to death and then was shot. Put out a note on it.

Hope 🙏 so

Great piece, Shane. The shameful mainstream media, running cover for Ukraine the same way they do for Israel, will never admit to everything you spoke of here. Everything they report is that things are going just fine for Ukraine. The media are not truth tellers, they are truth suppressors.

Thank you, Chris.

For sure. Even if people don't want to agree with my analysis, shutting down all other views helps neither Ukraine nor Europe.

This is an excellent article Shane and a very enjoyable read 😀👏☕😊 I really admire the way you take such a balanced, fair view of the whole conflict.

As far as the blockade goes, I think the reason that it came to a fore now was not the drone attacks in Russia but rather the Ukrainian/Western attacks on Russian/Kazakh(and even in some cases Western) shipping in the Sea of Azov/Black Sea. I believe it was 6 weeks ago that these attacks made headline news here in Norway and were trumpeted. I had no idea what the Russian response would be(but I always listen to the Duran guys for tips😀), but the blockade seems to be a direct response. Although it has to be said, I think this was planned for some point anyway. I've noticed that Ukraine's recent actions gives Russia the excuse to do what it was inevitably going to do anyway.

But nothing sums up the tragedy for Ukraine than these busifications. And Zelensky has yet again not thought this through. If some of these forced conscripts survive the war, will they be loyal to the government or will they try to remove it? Time will tell. But it just proves to me yet again that a bad peace is far better than a good war. Great work 😀👏😊

Thank you, Brett. Glad it made for a good read.

That's an important aspect to note too. In fact, if I had more time, I would have gone into more of the reasons behind this. Russia didn't do it before also because countries like Turkey and India asked it not to. But now Russia knows the West can't isolate and so it isn't as reliant on India, for instance, as it previously thought.

Well said - a bad peace is better than a good war.

It is an utter disgrace, the image Europe is projecting. Third-rate backroom secretaries like Macron, clowns like Boris, Truss, Starmer, Baerbock and BlackRock baby Merz, plus that autocratic, unelected destroyers like Kallas in Brussels with a completely discredited ‘President’ who was sacked as German Defence Minister for corrupt dealings and then sent to Brussels through highly opaque manoeuvres is only to be topped with the ECB President who is an officially convicted criminal in one of EU’s highest offices.

With all these Ukrainian ‘refugees’ in Europe, it would be fatal to believe that the Azov Nazis would voluntarily clear the field. These murderous but utterly stupid right-wing extremists have sent parts of their families to Europe as ‘refugees’ and have used funds swindled through corrupt schemes – money fleeced from European taxpayers – to buy houses, companies and other assets.

This whole web of lies in 404 will come crashing down in Ukraine, and then there will be follow-up attacks in the style of the IRA. The recruit will come from EU and blow up in 404 and then retread back into safe heaven in the EU. This has the sweet side-effect that EU populations remain in a state of fear and do not ask any awkward questions about why all social contracts have been terminated, all agreements watered down, and the administration is becoming increasingly oppressive.

According to some statistics, only 3 per cent of people in Europe are willing to use violence to shake up this autocratic system. And 3 per cent is a negligible minority, even for European gender-diverse security forces. Ukraine may fail but it will win because Europe will be “ukrainised”, it will finally become officially corrupt kind of “Chiquita Banana Union”. And if the sheeple are not good the most moral army in the World of the only democratic country in the Middle Est will send just another million ethnically cleansed people who land they occupied. So don’t worry, be great-full for this jerks you voted for.

Disillusionment with the government and disgust with government corruption are drivers for Ukrainians to continue the war. The war is being fought because of Ukraine’s turn to the west. And that turn is because they believe the EU and other western institutions can improve these issues.

Shane Fitzgerald's avatar

Everything the West has done for Ukraine, both before and during the war, has made everything worse and worse for Ukraine and the Ukrainian People. It was weaponised by foreign powers against Russia and is being sacrificed for their ends. This was even predicted and warned of before Putin came to power.

That the Ukrainian Government continues with this dynamic shows just how much they are operating in service of these powers and just how little they care about their own people.

Europe needs to man up and fight its own war and leave Ukraine and the Ukrainian People alone.

Ukrainians are waking up to this. Of couese, many will hate Russians till they die, but they're starting to see that the West never had their best interests at heart and was simply using their poor country with its neo-Nazi and ultranationalist elements to drag Russia into a quagmire.

Why do people say any of this stuff?

“Everything the West has done for Ukraine, both before and during the war, has made everything worse and worse for Ukraine and the Ukrainian People.”

If you were to substitute “Russia” for “the west” in that sentence… does it have at least a ring of truth for you? Does Putin bear any blame at all?

Ukraine wasn’t weaponized against Russia. Russia invaded Ukraine, not the other way around. What good is Ukraine as a weapon in the absence of the war that Russia started?

The Ukrainian government is carrying out the will of the strong majority of Ukrainians, which is to continue the war until negotiations that take Ukraine’s territory and security seriously can happen.

Yes, there is disillusionment and dissatisfaction with the government in Ukraine, but it’s almost totally a result of their belief that the war could be fought better than it currently is.

And yes, it is possible that by killing enough Ukrainians and blowing up enough of their cities, there will be actual support for something like a surrender. But that would be an awful thing for all of us, including Russians.
